The Chairman of the China Innovation Alliance of the Graphene Industry, Dr. Yichun Li, visited the premises of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT), on Monday, September 11, 2023, accompanied by Ms. Ping Li, Deputy Chairman of CGIA, Mr. Zhenpeng Hu, General-Secretary of CGIA, Mr. Minyang Lu, Deputy General-Secretary of CGIA, Ms. Wenyang Yang, Deputy General-Secretary of CGIA, Dr. Dan Xu, Vice General Manager of NGIC (National Graphene Innovation Center) and Ms. Yue Wang, NGIC.  Dr. Yichun Li, met with the director of FORTH/ICE-HT, Dr. Theophilos Ioannides, researchers and collaborating faculty members who are active in the field of graphene and were informed extensively about FORTH/ICE-HT activities.  The Chinese delegation expressed their interest in the FORTH Graphene Center, which is the main pillar for graphene research in Greece.

Dr. Theophilos Ioannides presented the profile of FORTH/ICE-HT and then the Chairman of CGIA, presented China’s recent activities on research and high-tech enterprises regarding graphene, presenting their major research achievements in recent years. Then, Prof. Costas Galiotis, honorary fellow of FORTH/ICE-HT and chairman of FORTH Graphene Center presented the goals of the Center and the activities of his research group. Subsequently, Prof. Spyros Yannopoulos, collaborating faculty member of the Institute, presented the project “Roll-to-Roll, laser-assisted graphene production for smart textiles and energy storage devices”, Dr. George Voyiatzis, research director of FORTH/ICE-HT, presented the project “Safe-by-Design, form science to regulation of multicomponent graphene-based nanomaterials: physicochemical characterization and Prof. Stelios Couris, collaborating faculty member of the Institute, presented his activities about “Nonlinear optical properties of Graphene & other 2D Nanomaterials”.

The Chairman of CGIA and the members of the mission, visited also the research laboratories of the Institute and expressed their appreciation for the quality of the research carried out at FORTH/ICE-HT.
