Recognition of PhD candidate from the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT)
Ms. Angeliki Matrali, PhD candidate and researcher at the Laboratory of Air Quality Studies of FORTH/ICE-HT has been awarded the 2026 HAAR Conference Award by the Hellenic Association for Aerosol Research (HAAR) for her research work entitled:
“Formation of secondary organic aerosol from intermediate volatility organic compounds (IVOCs) emitted by vehicles.”
The corresponding grant will cover Ms. Matrali’s expenses for presenting her work at the International Aerosol Conference (IAC 2026), which will be held in Xi’an, China, in September 2026.
The research was conducted as part of her doctoral dissertation at the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, in collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT), under the supervision of Prof. Spyros Pandis.
This distinction recognizes the high quality of her research work and constitutes a significant honor both for Ms. Matrali and for FORTH/ICE-HT, highlighting the important contribution of the FORTH to air quality research.
