Participation of FORTH in the Science and Technology Festival at Zappeion Megaro
FORTH participated under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GRET) of the Ministry of Development in the “Festival of Science and Technology”, which took place with great success at Zappeion Megaro in Athens, from November 27th to December 3rd 2008.
ICE-HT presented the new multi-functional fabrics, which cover a variety of applications, such as household, clothing and outdoor fabrics. The development of such textile products with “shielding” properties against dangerous or unwanted agents is an important field of research across Europe, given that the production of conventional textiles has shifted in recent years to countries with low labor costs. Innovation is now considered to be the main, if not the only, competitive outlet for the European textile and clothing industry.
