During the 9th Panhellenic Scientific Symposium of Chemical Engineering, held in Athens on 23-25 May 2013, the best works were selected and awarded by a special committee consisting of faculty members of NTUA, University of Thessaloniki and University of Patras in the following categories: (1) poster presentation, (2) work based on a diploma thesis, and (3) work based on a Ph.D. thesis. The selection criteria for awards were (a) the scientific quality of the work, (b) the quality of the written text, and (c) the quality of the oral presentation or poster.

• In the category “Poster presentation” the 3rd prize was received by researchers of FORTH / ICE-HT for the work:
  “Differentiation of micro/nanoporous structure of polyolefins in order to develop breathable non-woven hospital products” (in Greek),
  by E. Moschopoulou, I. Bounos, T. Ioannides and G. Voyiatzis.

• In the category “Work based on a diploma thesis” a commendation was received by researchers of FORTH / ICE-HT for the work:
  “Separation and recovery of phenolic compounds from olive mill wastewaters through cooling” (in Greek),
  by S. Kontos, P. Koutsoukos, and C. A. Paraskeva.

Symposium organizers honored the authors, during an event held on Wednesday July 24, 2013 at the auditorium “N. Koumoutsos”, School of Chemical Engineering, NTUA.
