Anastasia-Maria Moschovi wins in the Woman in Energy Category of the European Sustainable Energy Awards 2023
Dr. Anastasia-Maria Moschovi, Head of Research, Development and Innovation at Monolithos in Athens, a former PhD and post-doctoral fellow of FORTH/ICE-HT won in the Woman in Energy category of the European Sustainable Energy Awards 2023 for her work as a materials engineer bringing energy innovation to Greece. The award recognizes women who lead outstanding activities that, if replicated, help to advance the clean energy transition in Europe. Particular attention is placed on efforts to drive the gender mainstreaming agenda and support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector. Τhe public-voted award was delivered by the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson at the Awards Ceremony of the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and energy efficiency in Europe, held in Brussels on June 20 2023.
As PhD candidate at the U. of Patras Chemical Engineering Department, Dr. Moschovi carried out her PhD thesis research at FORTH/ICE-HT between 2008-2012 under the main supervision of Drs. V. Nikolakis and V. Dracopoulos. Dr. Moschovi was also a post-doctoral collaborator of the Institute between 2014-2015 studying the structure of protonated ionic liquids using vibrational spectroscopy and of molecular imprinted polymers for metabolomic applications.
