Regional Policy Commissioner Corina Creţu, head of a delegation, visited FORTH/ICE-HT on Thursday 21/05/2015, accompanied by the General Secretary for Research and Innovation Prof. Thomas Maloutas. The guests were welcomed by Governor of the Region of Western Greece, Apostolos Katsifaras, deputy governors of the Region, the Director and the Scientific Council of the Institute, etc.

The Director of FORTH/ICE-HT Dr. V. Burganos presented  briefly the research activities of the Institute in the areas of nanotechnology, advanced materials, energy, environment, life sciences and biotechnology. He also presented the innovative products of ICE-HT and the spin-off companies, which are the results of the research activities at the Institute.

Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Creţu congratulated the Director of the institute for the work carried out in the field of research and innovation, emphasizing that it contributes to the future of the country. At the same time, she announced that the policy of EU will aim to allocate additional resources to strengthen research and innovation for the next programming period , too. Afterwards, the Delegation was given a tour at the FORTH/ICE-HT facilities.
