Achievement

The ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard certification for Metabolomics and Bioinformatics Analyses was granted to the Metabolic Engineering and Systems Biology Laboratory (MESBL) of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH/ICEHT), after a detailed inspection of the laboratory operating procedures carried out on September 21, 2022. Obtaining the certification was mandated by MESBL participation in the structural funding project of the National Research Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS-GR, MIS 5028091). In the certification process, MESBL personnel was assisted by the consulting company KYKLOS POIOTITAS in Patras, GREECE.

ISO 9001 is an internationally recognized standard for quality management, describing a Management System implemented to ensure the expected quality in the products and services offered by an Institution/Laboratory. MESBL is the first ISO 9001:2015 certified Metabolomics and Bioinformatics Analysis laboratory in Greece, aiming at the continuous development of its know-how and the timely adoption of new methods and techniques, through the continuous upgrading of its technical (experimental and computational) infrastructure.
