ICE-HT at the Forefront of Innovation at the 9th Patras IQ Exhibition
The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT) successfully concluded its participation in the 9th Patras Innovation Quest, Patras IQ (February 27 – March 1, 2026), reaffirming its leading role in bridging cutting-edge research with industrial production.
Dynamic Workshop & Special Event
In a packed auditorium, the Institute celebrated over 40 years of contribution, demonstrating how scientific excellence is transformed into applicable solutions for society. The event was honored by the presence of the Vice Governor for Entrepreneurship, Research, and Innovation of the Region of Western Greece, Mr. Takis Papadopoulos, who emphasized the vital collaboration between research institutions and local government.
Attendees had the opportunity to follow targeted presentations by:
- Theophilos Ioannides (Director of ICE-HT): Overview of the Institute’s strategic activities.
- Yannopoulos: Flexible graphene devices and energy autonomy.
- Aggelopoulos: Innovative cold plasma solutions for water, soil, and food.
- Klapa: Metabolic analysis systems in novel onco-immunotherapies.
- Neophytides: Autonomous systems for energy co-generation and storage.
- Seitanidi: Smart air quality solutions (Spin-off emAIRging P.C.).
- Papamichail: The role of the Science & Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C) in regional development.
Exhibition Presence & High-Tech Exhibits
Throughout the exhibition, the ICE-HT booths attracted significant interest, showcasing pioneering technologies:
- Environment: Cold Plasma Reactor for water purification.
- Energy: Innovative batteries and supercapacitors featuring graphene electrodes.
- Materials: The use of graphene for the protection of artworks.
- Entrepreneurship: Showcasing spin-off companies emAIRging and Hellenic-CAM, proving that research can result in competitive commercial products.
Our successful presence was further supported by our strategic partners, the PRAXI Network and the Science & Technology Park of Crete (STEP-C), strengthening the bridge between the laboratory and the marketplace.
