“EIC Accelerator” event of the PRAXI Network, at the premises of FORTH/ICE-HT
The event “EIC Accelerator: Funding Opportunities, Procedures and Support” which was organized by the PRAXI Network, National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, in collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT), the Federation of Enterprises and Industries of Peloponnese & Western Greece, the European Hub for Digital Innovation for Health (smartHEALTH-EDIH), Enterprise Europe Network Hellas and the Patras Science Park.
The event took place on Tuesday 9 July 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT) in Patras and aimed to inform and guide innovative SMEs of the Peloponnese, as well as start-ups and spin-offs, on funding opportunities, proposal submission procedures and the support provided throughout the process in the competitive funding tool EIC Accelerator.
The event was addressed from distinguished guests, such as Mr. Charalambos Bonanos, Deputy Head of Regional Unit of Achaia, Prof. Kleomenis Barlos, President of SEV, Dr. Theophilos Ioannides, Director of FORTH/ICE-HT, Dr. Vassilios Loukopoulos, President of the Patras Science Park, and Dr. Konstantinos Vavekis, Director of the PRAXI/FORTH Network.
On behalf of the PRAXI Network, speeches were given by Dr. Christina Chemonidi, Dr. Achilleas Barlas, Dr. Ioannis Kortidis and Mrs. Maria Angelopoulou, who offered valuable advice on business support as well as practical information on how to apply for and obtain funding.
The event also featured other key speakers such as Mr. Andreas Lyberis, Head of Sector EIC Accelerator E03, EISMEA, and Mr. Vassilis Tsanidis, Senior Innovation Procurement Advisor, EIC, EISMEA, who presented the EIC Accelerator funding tool.
One of the successful EIC Accelerator cases was presented by Dr. Nikos Kanopoulos of Brite Solar, highlighting how Greek innovative companies can benefit from the programme. In addition, Ms. Rosalia Thalassinou, Director of Loans and Government Subsidies, and Mr. Eleftherios Podimatas, Head of Innovation at the Hellenic Development Bank (HDB), presented all the financial instruments of the Hellenic Development Bank, including the Hellenic Development Bank’s TEPIX III.
