Title: Research-Supported Services in the Industrial Sector
Abstract: The Laboratory of Applied Molecular Spectroscopy (LAMS) utilizes spectroscopic techniques for the identification, characterization and analysis of a wide range of materials through the study of their interaction with light. Using techniques such as Raman, FTIR and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy, detailed information is obtained regarding the molecular structure, chemical composition, intermolecular interactions and physicochemical properties of materials. In this direction, support is also provided by a series of important infrastructure instruments of the Institute, such as DSC, TGA, XRD, SEM/EDX, XPS among others.

The strong expertise developed in the field of molecular spectroscopy, combined with complementary thermal, mechanical and structural analysis techniques, allows LAMS to provide comprehensive and reliable analytical solutions and has led to a notable number of collaborations with industrial partners. Companies turn to our services to address complex challenges in quality control and failure analysis, support the research and development of innovative materials, optimize compositions, as well as investigate mechanisms such as aging, degradation or contamination, among others.

This presentation will present case studies that highlight key services that have been provided to established companies (without obviously being named), with a particular emphasis on applications in the polymer and advanced materials industry. These examples demonstrate how applied molecular spectroscopy can provide practical solutions to real industrial problems.
