The 15^th Hellenic Polymer Society International Conference (Polyconf15) concluded with great success in Patras, from December 3 to 6, 2025. The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (FORTH/ICE-HT) proudly served as a co-organizer of this major event (https://polyconf15.gr/).

The Conference, a premier biennial event held under the auspices of the Hellenic Polymer Society (HPS) and the European Polymer Federation (EPF), served as a meeting point for the international polymer science community.

The presence of ICE-HT was notably strong and numerous, with more than 7 research groups from the Institute participating and presenting 16 research papers.

The following distinctions, awarded during the Conference, were a particular honor for the Institute:

1. Recognition of Retired Professors:

• The HPS honored retired Collaborating Faculty Members of the Institute, acknowledging their immense contribution to the progress and development of polymer technology. Among those honored were:
• Costas Galiotis (Former Director of FORTH/ICE-HT).
• Professors Vassilios Kostopoulos, Ioannis Kallitsis, George Staikos, and Constantine Tsitsiliannis.

2. First Prize for Best Poster Presentation (Poster Award):

The First Prize for Best Poster Presentation was awarded to Evangelia Mitropoulou for her work titled: Synergistic and Antagonistic Interactions of Phosphorus-Based Flame Retardants and Mineral Co-Fillers in Polymers, selected among 108 competing entries.

The Conference strengthened the cooperation between academic research and industrial applications, promoting technological progress in the polymer sector.
