Engineering, EPFL, Switzerland,\u00a0<strong>co-Chaired the\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.egu23.eu\/\"><strong>General Assembly 2023<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.egu.eu\/\"><strong>European Geosciences Union<\/strong><strong>\u00a0(EGU)<\/strong><\/a>, EGU23, which was\u00a0held in Vienna and online on April 23-28, 2023.\u00a0The EGU General Assembly brings together\u00a0scientists\u00a0from all over the world to one large meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences.\u00a0EGU23 was a great success, welcoming 18,859 registered attendees with more than 100 countries, presenting more than 16,500 presentations in 938 sessions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EGU 2023 Awards and Medals ceremony was opened with a chamber music performance by Prof. Marion Holness on the violin (EGU\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.egu.eu\/gmpv\/home\/\">Geochemistry, Mineralogy, Petrology &amp; Volcanology Division president<\/a>\u00a0and Professor of Earth Sciences at the University of Cambridge) and Prof. Nenes at the piano, which you may enjoy\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.epfl.ch\/media\/EGU+2023+Awards+%26+Medals+Ceremony+-+Chamber+Music+Performance\/0_amuwst1c\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prof.Nenes also served as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.egu.eu\/as\/home\/\">EGU Atmospheric Sciences Division president<\/a>\u00a0from 2019-2023 and currently serves as the Division&#8217;s deputy
