The first study, which was selected as a European Geosciences Union (EGU) highlight study, showed that there is significant exposure of airborne carcinogens to the population of Athens, Greece &#8211; and the most important source of this pollution comes from wintertime domestic woodburning (fireplaces, wood stoves and pellet burners).\u00a0 A relevant article was published in Guardian on 17\/12\/2021 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/environment\/2021\/dec\/17\/wood-burners-urban-air-pollution-cancer-risk-study\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here.<\/a>\u00a0 The second article shows that atmospheric bacteria, following deposition on the Mediterranean sea, can act as a fertilize and provide a significant amount of nutrients (phosphorus) necessary for the primary productivity of its ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Also, a report on the experimental campaign which was co-organized by PyroTRACH, CALISHTO (<a href=\"https:\/\/calishto.panacea-ri.gr\/\">https:\/\/calishto.panacea-ri.gr\/<\/a>) on Mount Helmos, was shown on the daily news program O3 of the state TV ET3:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B2ViuphKNlY\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=B2ViuphKNlY<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New important scientific results from
