The virtual workshop for \u201cThe Innovation in Western Greece nowadays and the organizations that support it\u201d took place on Friday 19.03.2021 at 16:30. Welcome notes were delivered by the Deputy Minister of Research and Innovation, Mr. Chr. Dimas, the Deputy Minister of Investments and NSRF, Mr. I. Tsakiris, and the Governor of the Region of Western Greece, Mr. N. Farmakis. The workshop was intended to provide a map of innovation in Western Greece, as well as to give answers to key questions about innovation, including the sectors of the economy that are primarily affected, the funding tools, and the institutions that support innovation. The Director of FORTH\/ICE-HT, Dr. V. Burganos, participated as an invited speaker in the meeting. He described the role of the Institute in the field of innovation and presented the pathways for promoting it through collaborations with companies as well as through the establishment of startup companies that utilize sufficiently mature research results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
