The General Secretary for Research and Technology, Prof. Athanassios Kyriazis, visited the Institute on Friday, January 31, 2020. During his visit, Prof. Kyriazis met with the Institute Director, Dr. Vasilis Burganos and members of the Scientific Council, and was informed of the activities and recent achievements of the Institute as well as its strategy for further development. The Director of the Institute made special mention of the distinct role of the Institute in the Region through the historical links and collaboration with the University of Patras, the long-standing role of the Institute and FORTH, in general, in the development of the Patras Science Park, and the direct communication and collaboration with the local authorities and private enterprises. Prof. Kyriazis gave a synopsis of the new programmes and funding tools that are already active or are planned for the immediate future. Subsequently, he attended a guided tour by Dr. Burganos through the Institute labs and discussed with research personnel about their activities and their integration into new or emerging technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
