The workshop was co-organized by ICE-HT and the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras with the participation of the Departments of Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Pharmacy, Medicine and Biology of the University of Patras. More than 150 postgraduate and postdoctoral fellowships participated with more than 70 oral and post papers. The keynote speaker of the event was Professor George Chrousos, Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics and Endocrinology of NKUA &amp; Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Institute of Biomedical Research of the Academy of Athens.<\/p>\n<p>The event started with a welcome address by the Director of ICE-HT Dr. Vassilios Burganos and by the Chair of the U. Patras Department of Chemical Engineering, Prof. D. Vagenas.
